David S. Diseroad

The family of David S. Diseroad is heartbroken to announce the passing of David S. Diseroad on March 15, 2026. David, born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, to Patricia Kistler Diseroad and Donald Diseroad, is survived by his wife, Frances; his daughter, Dr. Emily, and husband, John Panning; and his son, Daniel, and wife, Ashley Norton. He is also survived by his brother, Kurt Diseroad, and Kurt’s fiancée, Cathy Henry. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially his cousin Stephen whom he considered a brother. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Donna Diseroad.

As a young boy, he enjoyed many summers working on his grandfather’s, then his uncle’s farm in Bloomsburg, PA. He and Stephen had many adventures during those summers. He also spent time with both his maternal and paternal grandparents while there.

He had a lifetime dedicated to public service starting as a seasonal police officer in Ocean City, Maryland in 1979 after graduating from University of Baltimore. He then started a 30 plus year career with Baltimore County Police starting in November of 1979. He was promoted 3 times and retired as a lieutenant commander in charge of the child abuse unit. During his career with Baltimore County, he held various assignments including Precinct 2, Communications, Precinct 8, Narcotics, Precinct 7, and commander of sex crimes unit, career criminal apprehension unit, fire arms violence unit, and repeat offender unit. He was very proud of his service with Baltimore County receiving numerous awards including Chief’s awards, unit citations, and accommodation for bravery.

After retirement from Baltimore County, he started as an intermittent employee with Health and Human Services, Logistical Response Team. He responded to many areas of the country after natural disasters assisting with the deployment of medical personnel and assets. During his retirement years, he was a District Court Commissioner in Ocean City, Maryland for 2 years. He worked for a number of years at Brightwood Retirement Community as a security officer.

His favorite activity was coaching his children as they participated in softball, baseball, soccer, football and basketball. He loved bragging about Emily and Daniel and would joke that they took after their mother. He enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, hunting, fishing, car shows, working on cars, and all the dogs he ever owned.

He was active in the community, coaching sports, officiating soccer, umpiring baseball and softball for Carroll County high schools and various recreational programs. He was honored to be selected to umpire a baseball tournament at Cooperstown Dreams Park in New York.

A memorial service will be held on April 11, 2026, 12:00 pm, at Immanual Lutheran Church, 3184 Church Street in Manchester, MD. Interment will be private.
