David Avonn Manning, 75, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at his residence. Born on November 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Howard and Roxie Mae Manning. He was the husband of Irina Manning.
Dave was an avid reader, history and biographies being among his favorites. His life was one of service in a variety of ways. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Zellars from October 1959 through November 1962. He was a teacher for many, many years, including within the Baltimore City Juvenile System and, more recently, Hebrew Schools in Baltimore County. He faithfully served as an ordained Southern Baptist minister in churches throughout Maryland during the 70s and 80s. He was a huge music fan and enjoyed everything from Mozart to Glenn Miller to Elvis Presley to Buddy Holly to Classic Hymns. Community theater and singing were also an important part of his life for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons: William, Robert, and David Jr, daughters: Krystal Bradenburg and Cindy Smith, step daughter Olga Robbins, grandchildren: William, Alexandra, Nicholas, Stephanie Alexandra, Stephanie Ann Lucille, Mindy, Jacob, Rayna, Gabriel, Serenity, Nina, Evelyn, and Alek, great grandchildren: Darin, Kearay, and Kyree, niece: Patricia Yermal, and nephew: James Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 2:00 pm at Cockeysville Baptist Church, 232 Warren Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030.
Interment is private.
