David Winfield Oler, 71, of Upperco died Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Dove House in Westminster.

Born January 27, 1939 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Richard Winfield Oler and Eleanor M. Becker Oler. He was the husband of the Rev. LoisAnn Furgess-Oler, his wife of 39 years.

He was retired from the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn as a Supervisor and after his retirement he was a driver for Don Flowers Florist. He was a graduate of Calvert Hall College and took Astronomy courses at Catonsville Community College.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son and daughter in law Jonathan Chan and Jennifer Ceballos Oler; a granddaughter Yanna Antonia Oler; a sister Jean Weimer; a sister in law Ruth Esther Packhan; and also survived by 2 nieces and a nephew.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 3229 York Street, Manchester with the Revs. Gerry Fuss and Donna Sharp co officiating.

Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery in Trenton, New Jersey.
