Dennis "Reggie" "Doc" Reginald Shaffer

Dennis "Reggie" "Doc" Reginald Shaffer, 71, of Westminster, MD, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.  Born on December 21, 1949, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of Earl Franklin Shaffer and the late Betty Jane Therit Shaffer Gouker.

Reggie had worked as a loader operator for C.J. Miller, LLC.  Years ago, he loved riding and working on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He enjoyed greeting people in his wheelchair at Long View Healthcare Center and was always willing to help others.  The family is appreciative of the great, loving care he received at Long View.  He will be missed by many of his loving and caring friends.

He is survived by his father, Earl F. Shaffer and his loving companion, Patricia A Desautels, who Reggie called "Mom." He is also survived by his Aunt Joan Shaffer of Florida, Aunt Alice Shaffer of Hampstead, MD, Aunt Doris (Therit) Phelps of Manchester MD, and Aunt Madge (Therit) Hicks of Orlando, FL, many cousins, and special friend, Tammy Tasker.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 3 – 5 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a memorial service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 11 am.

Interment to follow in Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery, 3229 York Street, Manchester, MD 21102.
