Donald Earle Fisher, 89, of Westminster died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the home of his son.
Born Aug. 12, 1918, in Pikesville, he was the son of the late Thomas and Nellie Patterson Fisher. He was the husband of Anna Belle Johnson Fisher, his wife of 62 years, who died April 12, 2001.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1960 from the Baltimore City Police Department, where he was a motorcycle policeman and was shot in the line of duty in 1956.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Donald L. and Beverly Fisher of Dallas, and James R. Fisher Sr. and Pearl Fisher of Westminster; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Andrew Hevesy of Seaford, Del.; a sister, Nellie Sutch of Westminster; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings John, Melvin, Laura and Emory Fisher.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. Timothy Feaser officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Woodlawn.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
