Donald Eugene Lippy, 81, of Manchester died Friday, February 15, 2013 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born September 7, 1931 in Manchester, he was the son of the late David Lippy and Margaret Brown Lippy. He was the husband of Shirley May Tate Lippy, who died on July 7, 2007.

He was a veteran of the United States Marines Corp and held the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist.

He was volunteer, life member, and past chief of the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company. He was in the Hall of Fame of the Carroll County Fireman's Associations, and was a past president of the Carroll County Chiefs Association.

He was a leader of the Boy Scouts of Manchester. He was a past member of the Marinette cruising club and in his spare time he was an avid boater and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are his children Dixielee Weaver and husband Tony of McSherrystown, PA, and Blake Lippy and companion Lori Sheely of Hanover, PA; his granddaughter Janelle Hummer and husband David of McSherrystown, PA; his great granddaughters Samantha and Katie Hummer; his brothers Richard Lippy and Burnell Lippy; his sister Shirley Martell; and his companion Betty Dell.

A graveside service for Mr. and Mrs. Lippy will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, (Virginia Route 619), Triangle, VA with interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corp League, P.O. Box 3070, Merrifield, VA 22116.
