Donald Charles Perricone, Sr., 80, of Manchester died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at his residence.

Born on March 31, 1928 in Manhattan, New York and was the son of the late Bennie Perricone and Sarah Ciccone Perricone. He was the husband of Iris Marie Meckel Perricone, his wife of 50 years.

Mr. Perricone worked as a Medical Technologist and was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. He served in the United States Navy as Corpsman in the Mediterranean Sea and at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Upon being discharged from the Navy, he work at George Washington Hospital in Washington, D.C. and later was responsible for the opening the Laboratory at the former Carroll County General Hospital. In his spare time he was a Civil War enthusiast and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons and daughters in law Benjamin E. and Marlene S. Perricone of Hampstead, Donald C., Jr. and Jennifer M. Perrricone of Westminster, Victor W. and Rosa Perricone and Alexander J. Kathleen G . Perricone all of Manchester; his grandchildren Justin Kemp, Jared, Mason, Erica, V.J., Emily, and Abigail Perricone; his great grandchild Madison Kemp; his sister Dorothy Caputo of Florida; his nieces Amy Orser of Montana and Kathy McKimmy of Arizona; his nephew Robert Caputo of Long Island, NY.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 3071 Park Avenue, Manchester with Rev. Michael Roach celebrating. Interment will be in St. Bartholomew Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the National Kidney Foundation,
30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Maryland, 7008 Security Boulevard, Ste 300, Baltimore, MD 21244.
