Donald V. Swann

Donald V. Swann, 89, of Hanover, PA., formally of Hampstead, MD. passed peacefully Sunday Feb. 11, 2018 at the Hanover General Hospital in Hanover, PA. Born on May 12, 1928 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Horace Vivien and Elsie Davis Swann. He was the husband of the late Katherine Ellen Wrightson Swann who died in 2012.

Donald was retired from the Patapsco and Back Rivers Railroad. He was an Elder for Grace Bible Church of North Carroll. He enjoyed camping and traveling across the United States, reading and using his computer to communicate with family and friends. Donald also enjoyed living at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law; Timothy G. Swann and Lisa Shore of Pasadena, MD., sister; Mildred Schreiber of Towson, MD., grandsons; Daniel and Jonathan Swann and half siblings; William Swann, April Whitmer, Horace Swann and Charles Swann.

He was predeceased by half siblings; Joan Swann, Carolyn Todd and Charlotte Grogg.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, PA., 3296 Charmil Dr. Manchester, MD. on Thursday Feb. 15, 2018 from 10am until the time of funeral service at 10:30am. His Pastor Greg Breen will officiate. Interment will be private.
