Donald Thomas Warren, 92 years old of Owings Mills, died Saturday, Oct 2, 2010 at the Care Center at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville.
Born October 5, 1917 in Owings Mills, he was the son of the late William M. and Helen M. Warren.
He was the husband of the late Helen Jean Baker Warren who died in 1985.
He entered the U.S. Army on March, 1941 as a Private. He saw action in the Aleutian Islands and The European Theater. Holder of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, he was Honorably Discharged on December 25, 1945 as a First Lieutenant. He entered the Baltimore County Fire Department on July 8, 1948; retiring after 28 & 1/2 years of service as a Chief Deputy on January 1, 1977. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Baltimore County Retired Fire Officers and Firefighters Assoc., Life Member of Maryland Fire Chiefs Assoc., Owings Mills Volunteer Fire Company and a member of V.F.W. Post 521 in Owings Mills.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Margaret Warren, Marie G. Trump, Evelyn Fowble, William M., Horace E. and George P. Warren.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills where services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Clarence L. Roark officiating.
Interment in Harbaugh Church Cemetery in Rouzerville, PA.
