Doris Marie Bosley

Doris Marie Bosley, 84, of Manchester, MD passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD.  Born on November 18, 1933 in Freeland, MD she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Marie Pfennig Hendrix.  Doris was the wife of the late Donald Ellsworth Bosley to whom she was married for 51 years.

Doris graduated from Sparks High School in 1951. She was a 4-H Ambassador. A loving mother and caring homemaker, she raised 6 children, and also worked as a Daycare Provider, loving many more children. She volunteered with various school booster associations that her children were involved in and also volunteered her time with NESAP. She was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. Doris enjoyed bluegrass music, traveling, camping, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Surviving her are children: Donna Lee Vogeler and husband Timothy of Frederick, MD, Catherine Louise Duncan and husband Hank of Clayton, N.C., Barbara Ann Valentine of Manchester, MD, Mark Allen Bosley of Manchester, MD, Joan Ellen Waugh and fiancé Ed Green of Westminster, MD, Karen Lynn Rhoads and husband Robert of Burtonsville, MD, 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a sister: Clara Louise Walsh of Hampstead, MD.

Doris was predeceased by her son in law: Dick Valentine, grandsons: Lance Vogeler, Andy Bosley and Richie Valentine, and brothers: Donald Hendrix and Kenneth Hendrix.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 1, from 1 – 2 pm at Salem United Methodist Church, 18217 Falls Road, Hampstead, MD 21074, where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
