Doris Sterner Buckley, age 75, of Manchester, MD died Sunday November 16, 2014 at the Longview Nursing Home in Manchester, MD.
Born April 12, 1939 in Carroll County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Naomi Virginia Snyder Sterner. She was the wife of James Michael Buckley, her husband of 44 years.
She was in the first North Carroll graduating class of 1957. She was a retired LPN and had worked for Hanover Hospital and Carroll Hospital Center. She was a member of the former Lohr's Memorial United Methodist Church in Hanover, PA. In her younger years, she was active in 4H. She enjoyed her family, spending time on the family farm, traveling, animals, and especially her cats.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Michael Buckley and wife Jennifer of Hanover, PA, and Lisa Buckley Ward of Manchester, MD; twin granddaughters Madison and Mackenzie Buckley both of Hanover, PA; and nephew Robert "Bobby" Sterner and wife Erika of Manchester, MD.
She was predeceased by a brother, John Robert Sterner.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday with a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD with the Rev. Matthew S. Schenning officiating. Interment will be private.
