Doris Arlene Mitchell

Doris Arlene Mitchell, 89, of Hanover, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at her home. Born on March 12, 1932, in Phillipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Frances Frantz Burget. Twice married, she was the wife of the late Gerald Martinez and the late James Edward Mitchell.

Years ago, Doris worked as a cashier at Giant Foods in Pikesville, and she formerly worked for TSC in Hanover. She enjoyed reading murder mysteries.

Surviving her are children: Gerald Michael Martinez, Donald Edward Martinez, Norman Lee Martinez, Anna Marie Martinez Drechsler, Cara Mae Martinez Jones, Kathi Lynn Martinez Clauss, Martin Jay Martinez, Mary Mitchell Harrell, and James Mitchell, 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son: Carl Anthony Martinez, grandson: Adam Scott Martinez, and siblings: Paul Burget, Lois Amos, and Karen Reed.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 25, and Tuesday, October 26, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, at 11 am.

Interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
