Doris Marie Smith, 88, of Millers, died Tuesday Jan. 4, 2011 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born April 10, 1922 in Adams Co. Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Guy David and Cora Virginia Kebil Sanders. She was the wife of the late Russell Eugene Smith who died April 24, 1992.
She was a housewife. Years ago she worked at Black & Decker in Towson and at Dean's Restaurant in Hampstead.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws Nancy and Ralph Shamer of Millers and Judith and Leroy Johns of Hanover, PA; her brothers Harold Sanders of Westminster, and Donald Sanders of Glen Rock, PA; her grandchildren Nicole, Russell, Todd, Kelly and Kathy; 7 great grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter Norma Streight, her sisters Emma Mae Wagner, Madeline Reever, Myrtle Johns, Mary Elizabeth and Mary Agnes Sanders, and her brothers Paul, Eugene "Duff", Henry, Bill, and Richard H. Sanders.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with the Rev. David Bare officiating.
Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery in Manchester.
