Doris Irene Strauss, 85, of Manchester, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Longview Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born December 23, 1928 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Covill Koss. She was the wife of the late Raymond William Strauss, Sr.
She was retired Wardrobe Assistant for Local 913 for over 25 years. She enjoyed reading especially in Myrtle Beach, working crossword puzzles, watching and feeding the birds, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children Nancy Raye Brown and husband Charles W. of Manchester, Raymond W. Strauss, Jr. and wife Brenda of Manchester, and David C. Strauss and wife Jennifer of Spring Grove, PA; her sister-in-law Patricia Teague and husband George of Finksburg; her brother-in-law Dean Strauss of Westminster; her 9 grandchildren; and her 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday.
Interment will be in Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore.
