Dorothy Mae Black

Dorothy Mae Black, 99 of Manchester, MD. passed peacefully Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born July 18, 1918 in Hanover, PA. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mabel Gise Wentz. She was the wife of the late Clayton LeRoy Black who died in 1997.

Dorothy was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Barry A. Black and wife Brigitte of Concord, North Carolina and Patricia K. Stone and husband Stuart of Leonardtown, MD, grandchildren: Lauren Maurice, Kevin Stone, Jillene Black and great grandchildren: Harmony, Ryan, Claire and Ashlyn. She is also survived by a brother; Earl Wentz of Accident, MD.

She was predeceased by siblings: Roy Wentz, Pauline Small, Edgar Wentz, Raymond Wentz, and Helen Ayers.

The family will receive friends at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 10am. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
