Dorothy Elizabeth Bosley

Dorothy Elizabeth Bosley, 91, of Upperco, MD, went to be with the Lord on December 11, 2017. Born on July 7, 1926, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Bossom) Tracey. She was the wife of the late Milford Harry Bosley.

She graduated from Franklin High School. Dorothy worked at Wholesale Foods and the Isthmian Steamship Co., both in Baltimore City, before marrying her husband in 1945. They bought the farm where she assisted with many farm responsibilities and still resided at until 5 years ago when she moved to Golden Crest Assisted Living. She enjoyed her new friends through the years, and it became a second family.

Dorothy enjoyed her flower gardens, sewing, bingo, playing cards, and hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas for many. She was able to travel later in life to many countries with friends and also enjoyed bus trips across the states.

She attended Wesley U.M. Church and then became a faithful servant to God at Mt. Zion U.M. Church. She served as Ladies Aid President, S.S. Treasurer, Youth Fellowship Leader, sang in the choir, and taught Adult S.S. for over 50 years.

Surviving her are children: Gene Bosley and wife Tricia, Garry Bosley and wife Sally, and Sherry Crowl and husband Paul, all who reside on the farm in Upperco MD, 7 grandchildren: Jay and Robyn Bosley, Tracey and Vinnie Santoro, Shelley Bosley, Christy and Brian Collins, Matthew and Megan Bosley, Kate and Blake Smith, and Lauren Crowl, along with 12 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband: Milford, son: Kenneth Bosley, and brother and sister-in-law: Quintin and Pauline Tracey.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion U.M. Church in Upperco, MD, on Thursday, December 14, at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
