Dorothy C. Finnerty, 73, of Centerville formerly of Millers died Saturday May 21, 2011 at her home.
Born Jan. 8, 1938 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Edgar T. and Elizabeth Marie Swinson Jordan. She was the wife of the late Clinton H. Finnerty, her husband of 44 years, who died in 1998.
She was a homemaker, an avid shopper and loved animals.
She is survived by her children Patricia Finnerty Loforte and husband Francesco of Centerville, Robert Finnerty and wife Deborah of Westminster, and Susan Finnerty Miller and husband John of Hanover, PA; her grandchildren Michael and his fiancée Natalia, Joseph and Alane Miller, JR Leonard, Angela and husband Jeffery Risley, and Roberto and his wife Sabrina Loforte; her great grandchildren Samantha and Shawn Leonard, Brennan Miller and Josie Loforte; her sisters Elizabeth Holston of Manchester, and Elaine Foracappo of Parkville; and also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, on Thursday at 10:00 am with the Rev. Matthew S. Schenning officiating.
Interment will be in Trenton Church Cemetery, Trenton, MD.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. at the funeral chapel.
