Dorothy M. Gordon

Dorothy M. Gordon, 93, of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at BridgingLife Dove House, Westminster, MD.  Born on November 26, 1930, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ernest O. Dunnigan and Rose Marie Moudry.  She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Gordon, who passed away in 2017.

Years ago, Dorothy worked as a secretary for Universal Exports insurance agency.  After retirement from Universal Exports, she was the caretaker for David and Elizabeth Nes for 20 years.  She enjoyed spending time with family and taking care of her husband.  She loved gardening and tending to her rosebushes.  She liked to feed and watch the neighborhood birds, squirrels, and cats. Dorothy was a Eucharistic Minister and a long-time parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Glyndon.

Surviving her are daughters: Patricia Gordon Maynard and Joanne "Jo" Gordon, both of Reisterstown.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Dorothy was predeceased by her sons: James R. Gordon and Robert J. Gordon, and siblings: Jeanette Wontrop and James Dunnigan.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 18, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 19, at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071.

Interment will take place on Monday, March 4, at 2:30 pm, at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Baltimore Humane Society, 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
