Dorothy May Grogg nee Sellers, age 93, formerly of Lineboro, died March 1, 2023, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA. Born on June 25, 1929, in Melrose, MD, she was the daughter of the late, Edgar and Alice (Hersh) Sellers. She was married to the late Burnell L. Grogg for 70 years.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Later in life she was her husband's devoted caregiver. In her quiet way she supported the family and was always there for everyone.
Dorothy was a Bookkeeper and worked and retired from for Kopp's Company, Inc. She was a member and past President of the Lineboro Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She also served three terms as President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Carroll County Volunteer Fireman's Association. She was a member of St. David's Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA. Dorothy and Burnell enjoyed many years of square dancing and camping, and they traveled to all 50 states and Canada.
Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Phillips and husband Carroll of Manchester, MD; son, Steven Grogg and wife Sher, of Selbyville, DE; daughter, Janet Gross and husband Darry, of Hampstead, MD. She is survived by four grandchildren, Ketti McCarty, Matthew Gross, Kelly Gross, and Shelli Grogg, and five great-grandchildren: Kyle, Andrew and Jacob McCarty, Cecilia Landis Gross, and Cora Gross. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Miller and brothers, Norman Sellers and Paul Sellers. She was predeceased by her grandson Sean Grogg.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 3 to 6 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, and Monday, March 6, 2023, from 10:30 to 11:30 am, where a funeral service will begin 11:30 am, at St. David's Lutheran Church, 1032 Musselman Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
