Dorothy Jane Machlinski

Dorothy Jane Machlinski, 79, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Reisterstown, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. Born on December 19, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Lillian Frances Morris (nee Mulcahy). She was the wife of the late Raymond Charles Machlinski, Sr., her husband and soulmate of 48 years.

She was formerly employed at Malco Plastics of Owings Mills, MD, and Budget Optical of Reisterstown, MD, before enjoying retirement.

Dorothy was loved tremendously by all who had the privilege to know her. She was endlessly giving with a generous heart and infinitely positive in her outlook on life. She was so loving, fun, and kind, with an infectious smile. Dorothy was an irreplaceable light in this world that will be so deeply missed.

Dorothy was a dedicated volunteer at Hanover Hospital and Hanover Area Council-Churches. She enjoyed helping and bringing smiles to every patient and person she met. She loved playing bingo, and loved spending time with her family and friends at the casino. She was a regular at the YMCA and enjoyed going to the gym on many days of the week. She loved playing games with her family and friends and was always up to a game of cards or Scrabble. Dorothy's most treasured past time was spending time and making memories with her family. She made her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild her highest priority and never missed an event or function in any of their lives. Her words of love and encouragement were endless and inspiring, making the best of every situation.

Surviving her are children: Kimberly Neighoff and husband John, and Raymond C. Machlinski, Jr., and wife Jacque, grandchildren: Heather and husband Matthew, Shannon and husband Brandt, and Zachary, and great grandson: Austin, and also survived by extended family.

She was preceded in death by grandchild: Bradley Neighoff, and siblings: John Titus, and Albert Morris and wife Diane Morris.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 27, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the ECKHARDT  FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102. A graveside service, opened to all family and friends, will be held on Monday, October 28, at 11 am at Druid Ridge Cemetery, 7900 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore MD 21208.  The immediate family is requesting for family and friends to line up in front of the Druid Ridge Cemetery office at 10:45 am for procession to the gravesite.

Memorial contributions in Dorothy's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
