Dorothy “Dottie” Virginia Boone

Dorothy "Dottie" Virginia Boone, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the age of 81 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Born in Frederick, Maryland, on November 27, 1943, to Andrew and Erma Hobbs, Dottie will always be remembered for her strength, unconditional love, and unending generosity. She devoted her life to caring for her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and selflessness.

Dottie is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bud, and their cherished children: Phil (Kim) Boone, Deena (Lloyd) Ford, and Dawn (Denny) Strine. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Madison and Andrew Boone, Caroline Haschert, Brett and Evan Ford, Regan Blair, and Hunter and Lauren Strine. Her joy extended to her great-grandchildren: Finn, Eloise, Camryn, McKenna, Owen, and Huntley, who were blessed to experience her love and warmth.

She worked alongside her husband as the secretary and treasurer of their business, A.P. Boone & Son Inc., for 40 years.

Dottie's presence brought light to all who knew her, and while she will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 4, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102, where a service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at 10 am.

Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
