Dorothy Miles Yox, 96, of Reisterstown died Friday, March 30, 2012 at Future Care Cherrywood in Reisterstown.
Born October 9, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Nelson Miles and Lola Hughes Miles, beloved wife of Grover Bernard Yox, Sr., who died in 1965.
Dorothy was a teacher at Franklin and Randallstown Elementary Schools and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reisterstown. She was a graduate of Towson State Teachers College and also attended University of Maryland and Western Maryland College. She was member of the Retired Teachers' Association and Retired Teachers of Baltimore County. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling in the United States, Canada, Europe, Greece, Egypt, and several countries in the Middle East.
Surviving is her daughter Mary Gogel; her 6 grandchildren; her 9 great grandchildren; and her 2 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sons G. Bernard Yox and George Reed Yox and her siblings Nelson Miles and Margaret Fadely.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 2nd at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with a funeral service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 109 Main Street, Reisterstown.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church.
