Douglas Foster McGee, 66, of Manchester died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at his residence.

Born March 1, 1942, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John Foster McGee and Addie May Harris. He was husband of Yvette Marthe Picard McGee, his wife of 43 years.

He attended Franklin High School in Reisterstown and was a member of the American Legion Post 200 in Hampstead.

He was an honorably discharged veteran of the Air Force, where he served as an airman first class.

He worked for Kopps Lumber Co. in their sales department for 36 years and for Reisterstown Lumber Co. for seven years as a truck driver.

He enjoyed working in his garden and traveling with his wife all over the United States, Canada and France. He was a member of Greenmount United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Linda R. and Ronald Huey of Butler, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law Brian D. and Kyle McGee of New Oxford, Pa.; grandchildren Jacob, Amanda and Matthew Huey, all of Butler, and Justin, Amber and Devin McGee of New Oxford; brothers and sisters-in-law Walter "Bud" and Ruth McGee of Golden, Colo., John A. McGee of New Oxford, Jesse A. and Claudia McGee of Hampstead, Eugene R. and Nancy McGee of Washington, Pa., Joseph L. and Betty McGee of Hanover, Pa., and Nadine McGee of Upperco.


He was predeceased by brothers William L. and Robert McGee; and a sister-in-law, Sarah McGee.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with his pastor, the Rev. Jerry Grace of Greenmount United Church officiating, with military honors following the service. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
