Dwight Richard "Rick" Wetzel age 51 of Manchester, MD died Saturday September 13, 2014 at his home. Born November 11, 1962 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of Louis and Virginia "Jenny" Martins Yowell of Manchester, MD. He was the husband of Alice Cox Wetzel.
He was a pipefitter and welder with the U.S. Coast Guard. He loved to fish and enjoyed sports, both watching and playing the backyard variety. He was a huge fan of the Orioles and Capitals and had a lot of interest in the Ravens and NASCAR. One of his greatest memories was when the Orioles won the 1983 World Series.
Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are son, Derrick Wetzel of Hanover, PA, siblings, Lisa Crabbs, Louis Yowell III, Gina Green and Christopher Yowell. He was also survived by 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Ashley Wetzel.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am. with the Rev. John Street officiating.
Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
