E. June Ensor

June Ensor, 90, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Towson, MD. The unconditional love, affection and importance of family defined June.

Born June 21, 1931, in Garrison, MD, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Dennis Harmon and Evelyn May Hastings Harmon. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late George Walton Ensor, who passed away in 2015.

A proud graduate of Franklin High School's class of 1948, June worked for the C&P telephone company for decades in various roles, starting as a telephone operator in 1948, and retiring from the company in 1990 after it had become Verizon.

After retiring, she taught nursery school and worked with her son Bryan, owner of Ensor Contracting. A devoted and active member of the Stone Chapel United Methodist Church, June was a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher and organist. June was an excellent cook and baker; and it gave her great pleasure to spoil each generation with her specialties from the kitchen, and spend time teaching them her recipes, especially sugar cookies at Christmas time. She loved the Baltimore Orioles, watching nearly every game on television, and all things Disney, given its focus on family and family entertainment. She was the matriarch of a large and close-knit family whom she taught to stick together through good times and bad, to value family traditions, thoughtfulness, and hard work.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her are children Brenda Benson and husband Gordon; Bryan Ensor and wife Nancy; Beth Hayes and husband Christopher, in addition to nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and siblings Denny Harmon and wife Bea, and Barbara Hayman.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD, 21117, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 10 am.

Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, MD.
