Earl Henry Miller, 94, of Millers died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.

Born on February 24, 1916 in Alesia, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Hazel L. Hunt Miller and Anna Henry Miller. He was the husband of the late Helen W. Hare Miller, who passed away on December 14, 1997.

He worked for the Shoe Factory, and was acting Postmaster of Millers. He was the owner of Millers Floor Service and delivered the newspaper for around 35 years.

He was a life member of Manchester Fire Department and a member of Millers United Methodist Church in Millers.

Surviving are his sons and daughter in law E. Russell and Janey Miller and Melvin Lee Miller, all of Millers; his grandchildren Anthony Miller, Crystal Czapp both from Spring Grove, PA, Wendy L. Miller and Fawn Turner both of Hampstead, and Jay D. Miller of Manchester; his step grandson Steven Gardner of Sykesville; his foster children Louise Conrad, Virginia Baker, Rich Wyatt, Wanda Parker, and Kathy and Larry Doyle; and his 11 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son Lawrence Laverne Miller; his brother Malden B. Miller; his step brother Donald L. Miller; and his daughter in law Patricia Miller.

The family will receive friends 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Jeffrey Odom officiating.

Interment will be in Millers Church Cemetery in Millers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Millers Church Cemetery Fund, 3435 Warehime Road, Millers, MD 21102.
