Earl Ray Nichols age 65 of Hanover, PA died suddenly Dec. 18, 2014 in Westminster, MD. Born Feb. 8, 1949 in Coushatta, LA he was the son of the late William Cleo and Ada May Lewis Nichols. He was the husband of Dianne Sharon Gill Nichols.

He was a retired floor installer for Towne Pride Interiors in Hampstead, MD and was working for Carroll County Auto Parts at the time of his death. He was a former member of Greenmount United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed golfing, antique cars and driving his 1966 Mercury Cyclone.


Surviving in addition to his wife are siblings, Alfred Nichols and fiancee Linda of Texas, Lawrence Nichols and wife Sunny of Louisiana and Hattie Lou Adams and husband Harry of Louisiana. Brother in law, Dennis Gill and wife Kathleen, nephews, Matthew Gill and wife Kate, Eric Gill and wife Blaire, Jacob Gill and god daughters, Dorian Faidley, Shannon Finecey and their families.


A memorial service will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD on Monday Dec. 22, 2014. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm. with a 7:00 pm. service at the funeral home and request friends to dress casual.

Interment will be private.
