Edgar Eugene "Eddie" LaMotte, 78, of Manchester passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Long View Nursing Home in Manchester.
Born June 6, 1936 in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Wilson LaMotte and Mary Royston LaMotte. He was the husband of the late Leona Arlene Wilson LaMotte.
He was retired from Dutterer's of Manchester where he worked as a Butcher for 40 years and from North Carroll High School where he worked as a domestic engineer for 20 years.
He is survived by his children Barry LaMotte and wife Brenda of Spring Grove, PA and Terri Penick and husband Rex of Westminster; his grandchildren Steven LaMotte, Brandi Luther, and Jason Gibson; his great-grandchildren; his siblings Betty Wildasin and husband Emory of New Oxford, PA, Elaine Kaltrider and husband Marvin, and Earl LaMotte and wife Belva both of Manchester; and his dear friend Anna May Schaffer and family of Hampstead.
He was predeceased by siblings Ruth Martin and Charles "Bud" LaMotte
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday.
Interment will be at New Lutheran Cemetery in Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Debbie Peregoy Scholarship Fund, C/O The Community Foundation of Carroll County, 255 Clifton Boulevard, Suite 313, Westminster, MD 21157.
