Edith Virginia McPhail, 88 years old of Reisterstown, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in the Season's Hospice at the Northwest Hospital Center. She was born on January 22, 1920 in Middletown, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Colin and Florence Tooker McPhail.
Miss McPhail grew up with her sister in Owings Mills on what was once the Gwynnbrook State Game Farm where her father was supervisor. She was a 1938 graduate of Franklin High School and went on to graduate from Strayer Business College.
She worked for BG&E for over 40 years, retiring as personnel director. She loved travel, reading mystery novels and gardening and was especially fond of her roses.
Miss McPhail is survived by her sister, Barbara Mielke, nephew, Bruce Mielke and his wife Ruth, all of Reisterstown and one great niece & nephew, Carey and Jake .
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2008 at 8:00 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills. Rev. Eugene Funk officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
