Edmund Bernard White, Jr., 72, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Golden Living Center in Westminster, MD. Born June 6, 1944 in Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of the late Edmund Bernard White Sr. and Ida May Staples White. He was the husband of Bonnie Rogers White.
He was a retired detective for the Baltimore City Police Department, former officer of the Manchester Police Department, member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Baltimore Retired Police Benevolent Association, Inc. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country with pride. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons: Edmund Bernard White III of Rosedale, MD, Sean Jeffrey White of Baltimore, MD, Donald M. Kwedar, Jr. of Hampstead, MD, Matthew S. White of Hampstead, MD, and their wives. He is also survived by six grandchildren, a brother Gary F. White of Baltimore and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 23, from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, at 10 am. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veteran's Cemetery, Owings Mills, Maryland.
