Edna L. Holloway, 82, a resident of Cross Keys Village, The Brethren Home Community of New Oxford, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 26, 2024. She was born in Hanover, PA, and she was the daughter of the late Maurice E. and Helen V. Wisner.
She married Rev. Donald L. Holloway on December 29, 1963.
She is survived by her husband Don, a brother, Norman G. Wisner, his wife Penny, and their daughter, Whitney Wisner and husband Dalton.
In addition to being a devoted Pastor's wife, Edna was an elementary school teacher from 1964 to 1974. From 1975 to 2007, she worked as a book keeper, secretary, and Director of a Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Grand Rapids, MI. Then moving to Georgia, a Real Estate Agent and Broker, Volunteer Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Program Coordinator, and Program Consultant for the Dekalb County, GA health program. After returning with her husband Don to Hanover, PA in 2007, she served with Visiting Angels until 2011.
Edna was active in Stonecroft Ministries and sang with the Music ministry of Hanover First Church of God.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 1, from 6-8 pm, and on Thursday, January 2, from 10 am – 12 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 12 pm.
Interment to follow in Mount Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, Freeland, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Cross Keys Village, The Brethren Home Community.
