Edna Mae Longley, 91 years old of Manhattan, New York, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Isabella Geriatric Center in Manhattan, N.Y.
Born October 15, 1920 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harry Diffendall and Elsie Deering Diffendall.
She was the wife for 51 years of the late Charles F. Longley who died in 1993.
She moved to Owings Mills in the early 60's where she was active in many church and community organizations. After retiring to Westminster in the mid 90's, she moved to New York City in 2006 to be cared for by her granddaughter.
She is survived by her granddaughters: Jennifer M. Longley of Yonkers, NY, Christina Longley Sheldon of Bel Air, MD, granddaughter-in-law Amy S. Weinstein-Longley of Yonkers, daughter-in-law Edith C. Woodward Longley of Reisterstown, great granddaughter Samantha N. Sheldon, nieces Nanci Longley Virgin of Long Lake, MN, Barbara Longley of St. Paul, MN, Marjorie Longley Graham of Pacific Palisades, CA and nephews Christopher Longley of St Paul, MN and Jim Longley of Green Bay, WI.
She was predeceased her son, Charles H. Longley.
The family will be receiving visitors on Friday, March 16, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills, where Memorial Services will begin at 12:00 noon.
Interment will follow in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the American Cancer Society or an animal rescue organization.
