Edward Irving Acree, 73, of Sykesville died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Dove House in Westminster.

Born June 25, 1939 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Irving L. Acree and Elizabeth Warfield Acree. He was the husband of Catherine M. "Kay" Riggin Acree, his wife of 46 years.

He was an accountant and had worked for Procter Silex, Perfect Garment, United Insurance, and most recently Buchanan Tube Bending Company. He was an avid sports fan especially enjoying horse racing and football. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, grandchildren, and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son Patrick E. Acree and wife Katherine "Kitty"; grandchildren Seth, Jared, Rachel, Caleb, and Gabriel Acree; and his sister Joan Acree.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon with celebrant the Rev. Fr. Anthony Vidal officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
