Edward "Lumpy" Berwager

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward "Lumpy" Berwager , a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully in Las Vegas, NV.

Born to the late Edward Berwager and Nadine Shorb-Berwager, Ed was the proud father of two daughters, Carly Resetar, married to Michael and Crystal Fortino, married to Jason and grandchildren, Jordyn, Cayman, Colton, and Jaxsen. He was the loving brother to Bonnie Harpine, married to Daniel of Red Lion, PA and kept the memory of his two late brothers, Scott Berwager and Daniel Berwager, close to his heart.

A graduate of North Carroll High School, Class of 1971, Ed touched the hearts of everyone he met. He carried with him a strong work ethic throughout his life, dedicating much of his adult years  to raising his daughters by working many long days and nights at Dutterers, Giant, and Nell's ShurFine.

After moving to Las Vegas, he enjoyed spending time working at the East Side Cannery Casino and when not working he enjoyed  immersing himself in a captivating book, solving puzzles, taking in a movie at the theater and testing his luck at a casino table or slot machine with friends. However, there was nothing he enjoyed more than his weekly phone calls with his daughters, which often times lasted well over an hour.

Ed's charming smile, witty personality and love of life was infectious to anyone with whom he came in contact. Though we mourn his departure, we take comfort that he touched our lives and is now in a better place, continuing to spread his "Lumpy Charm" and watching over his beloved family.

The love he instilled in our hearts will never fade, reminding us to always cherish one another and live life to the fullest.

Rest in peace, Ed! You will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 18, from 11 am – 2 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a memorial service will begin at 2 pm.

Interment is private.
