Edward Vincent Smith, 47, of Hampstead died suddenly on October 26, 2008 at York Hospital after an accident at work.
Born August 4, 1961 in Buck Co., PA and he was the son of Lane M. Smith, Sr. and Barbara Duane Smith of Westminster. He was the husband of Karen Elaine Leese Smith, his wife of 24 years.
Mr. Smith was an avid motorcyclist and loved camping with his family. He was the owner of Smith Custom Builders.
Surviving in addition to his parents and wife is his daughter Heather M. Smith and his son Cory Lane Smith both of Hampstead; his brother Lane M. Smith, Jr., his sisters Lori Malbrough, Barbara Hossler, and Mary Mitchell; his mother in law Elaine Leese; and his brother in law Douglas G. Leese; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father in law Glenn William Leese.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with Rev. Lois Ann Oler officiating. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to O. I. Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 630342, Baltimore, MD 21263-0342.
