Elaine B. "Mom Mom" Patchett, 79, of Bel Air formerly of Owings Mills died Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center.
Born in Maryland on February 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Franklin L. Ball and Hazel Ruth Thompson Ball. She was the wife of the late Albert Kitchner Patchett, Jr., who died in 1992.
Mrs. Patchett was a homemaker and was a teacher's aide at Milbrook Elementary School. She was a member and past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 521 and a member and current secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 8672. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting and making special gifts for her grandchildren and was making a sweater for her first great granddaughter. To her family and friends she was affectionately known as "Mom Mom".
Surviving her are daughter and son in law Elaine "Doll" Patchett Engelhart and Thomas A. Engelhart of Bel Air; her sons and daughter in law Albert K., III and Anna Patchett of Mt. Airy and John W. Patchett and Debbie Shanahan of North Point; her grandchildren Christina Lippy, John, Jr. and Michele Patchett, Katherine Hazlett, Jacqueline Patchett, Ashley Patchett, Monica and Phillip Levin, and Nicole Engelhart; her great grandchildren Madison Jade Lippy, Ben Levin, Shaina Levin, and Joanna Levin.
Mrs. Patchett was predeceased by her granddaughter Tonya Engelhart and her grandson Mickey C. Lippy.
A funeral service will be 11:00 Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with Rev. Michael C. Adams officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park in Sykesville.
The Family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
