Emma Cornelia Lanocha

Emma Cornelia Lanocha (Germack), age 94 of Littlestown, PA, formerly of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on October 31, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg, PA.  She was born on September 10, 1924 in Baltimore MD to the late Lorena and John Germack.  She was the loving wife of John Joseph Lanocha whom she married on November 1, 1942.  John predeceased her on July 7, 1990.  Emma had two sisters, Hazel Kraft of California and Ada Diggins of Randallstown, both of whom also predeceased her.

Emma began her working career as a telephone operator for C&P Telephone Company, but ultimately retired in 1989 from Port City Press in Pikesville MD as a machine operator in the shipping department.

In retirement, Emma enjoyed bus trips and bingo with her sister Ada as well as trips to Ocean City with her children and grandchildren.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reisterstown.

Surviving Emma are children Beverly Taylor and husband Dennis of Littlestown PA, and son John Gary Lanocha and wife Patty also of Littlestown, PA., grandchildren Stacey Middleton (Jason), John Gary Lanocha, Jr., (Nicky), Joseph Lanocha (Melissa) and four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Noah, Ethan and Kai.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD, 21117. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 11 am at the funeral home with Monsignor Aiken officiating. Burial will immediately follow services at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, in Finksburg MD.
