Ernest Franklin Standiford, 91, of Cocoa, Fla., formerly of Arcadia, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at home.
Born Nov. 15, 1915, in Rutledge, he was the son of the late George W. and Hattie L. Famous Standiford. He was the husband of Arline Clawson Hodges Standiford, his wife of 71 years, who died May 19, 2011.
He was a retired tool marker with more than 40 years of service with Black and Decker. He was a longtime member with the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Department, a member of Piney Branch Country Club and an avid golfer. He has been a resident of Florida since 1994.
Surviving are a niece, Shirley Mackley, of Gettysburg, Pa.; a nephew, Kenny Gore, of Felton, Pa.; and numerous cousins and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service, 1 p.m. Saturday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. Bryan K. Wintersteen officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Church Cemetery in Arcadia.
