Esther Lucille Mccomas

Esther Lucille McComas, 89, of Hampstead, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Born on October 14, 1932, in Hampstead, MD, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle Coppersmith. Esther was the beloved wife of the late Sterling H. McComas, and 6 children were born from this union.

Esther was a homemaker and worked at the Hampstead sewing factory. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Esther enjoyed working in her garden, canning, and decorating for the holidays.

Surviving her are children: Sharon Knatz and husband Larry, Cheryl McComas, Dennis McComas and wife Carolyn, Cynthia Langston and husband Ted, Donna McComas-McCalmont and husband Steve, and Gail McComas and companion Jeff, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a brother: Kenneth Coppersmith and wife Pat, sisters-in-law: Edelgard Coppersmith, Catherine Coppersmith, Martha Coppersmith, and a brother-in-law: Larry Eckard. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 5 sisters and 6 brothers.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 31, from 2-6 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, 21102, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, November 1, at 10:30 am, with Rev. Dr. Jarrett Wicklein officiating.

Interment to follow in Grave Run Methodist Church Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
