Esther Mae Miller

Esther Mae Miller, 91, of Manchester, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born on November 27, 1930 in Hanover, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Levi S. Thoman and Alice Messersmith Thoman. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late William H. Miller, who passed away in 2003.

Esther was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester. She enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting Avon products, doing sudoku puzzles, gardening and sewing. She also loved going out to restaurants, shopping, having tea parties with her great-grandchildren, and above all else, spending time with her family.

Surviving her are daughters: Teena Ruby and husband Bill, Ruth Redmond and husband Rick, grandchildren: Julie Handy and husband Seth, Alice Nestor and husband Derek, Rosemary Otto and husband Nick, step-grandchildren: Christina Redmond and Diana Rutters, great-grandchildren: Jayden Corbin, Dylan and Cassidy Goodman, Natalie, Nathaniel, Madalynn, Lewis, Clark, Declan, Kelten Handy, Levi and Ella Otto, Benjamin Nestor, step-great-grandchildren: Olivia and Kendra Rutters, Anthony Moore, and sister-in-law: Margaret A. Miller.

She was predeceased by her grandson: Michael Corbin, siblings: Treva M. Mummert, Wilmer L. Thoman, Frances M. Krug, Mary L. Hetrick, Aliene V. McMaster, Arlene V. Miller, Rosella M. Plunkert, Marlyn L. Thoman, Ernest W. Thoman, Janet E. Thoman, and sister-in-law: Anna L. Miller

The family will receive visitors on Monday, July 25, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm and on Tuesday, July 26, from 11 am, until the start of the funeral service at 12 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102.
Interment to follow in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
