Ethel Viola Yingling Markle, 98, of Utz Terrace, Hanover, PA, formerly of Manchester, MD went home to be with her Lord on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Hanover Hospital.

Born on July 19, 1911 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Milton Allen Yingling and Lillie Mabel Brown Yingling. She was the wife of the late John Charles Markle, who died in 2003.

Mrs. Markle was a devoted wife and mother. She was a faithful life member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for 70 years. She was a member of the Ladies of the Choir and Women of the Lutheran Church of America (WELCA).

Surviving are her daughter and son in law Peggy and Bob Cullison of Manchester, her sons and daughters in law Douglas and Leslie Markle of Hanover, PA and Stanley and Renee Markle of Lutherville, MD; her 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester and 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church Street, Manchester with the Revs. Matthew and Norma Schenning officiating.

Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
