Eugene "Gino" Anthony DePalmer, 81, of Manchester, Maryland, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. Born on July 31, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Anthony Michael DePalmer and Mary Ida Gentile DePalmer.
Gino owned and operated Gino's Barbershop on Main Street in Manchester since the 1960s. He also worked for Black and Decker. He was a member of Manchester Area Merchants Association and Manchester Rec. Council where he coached for years, as well as a life member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. In his younger days, he played and coached Rhino's Football. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing sports.
Surviving him are children: Kimberly "Kim" DePalmer and partner Bill Bailey of Vermont, Jeanne Turman and husband Roger of Finksburg, Joe DePalmer of Manchester, grandchildren: Rebeca, Jacob, Crystal, Larry, Dustin, Zachary, Kayla, and great-grandchildren: Weston, Kiarah, Camden, Kora, Eli, Maddie, and Alexander. Eugene is also survived by his siblings: Vince DePalmer of Manchester, Anthony "Tody" DePalmer of Glenville, PA, and Anita "Sis" Gates of McSherrystown, PA.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 10:30 am at New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 am, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 2930 Hanover Pike, Manchester, MD 21102, with Father Michael J. Roach officiating.
