Eugene M. Black

Eugene M. Black, 91 of Manchester, MD, passed Saturday March 23, 2024, at the Bridging Life Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born Dec. 20, 1932 in Manchester, he was the son of the late Cletus John Henry and Mary Amanda Ellen Baumgardner Black. He was the husband of the late Joyce Lee Rohrbaugh Black.

Years ago, Gene drove a milk delivery truck. He had also worked for the Carroll County Board of Education and Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester and was a proud United States Army Veteran. Gene enjoyed working outside and collecting Trains.

Gene is survived by his children: Ken Black and wife Tammy and Robin Black all of Manchester, grandchildren: Kevin Bollinger, Hannah Bhatia, Ryan Purkey, Marilyn Wetzel, Cassandra and Jacqueline Black, 5 great grandchildren and a sister Cindy Ellen Rill of Hampstead, MD.

He was predeceased by a brother: Robert K. Black.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 27, 2024, from 4-7 pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00am.

Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
