Eugene Michael "Mike" O'Hara, 73 years old of Reisterstown, died suddenly on Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown.
Born in Baltimore on September 6, 1935, he was the son of the Late Clarence and Madeline O'Hara.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary L. Ebkens O'Hara in 1992.
After 37 years as a police officer with the Baltimore City Police Department, he retired in 1994. In 2000 he went back to work for the department in a civilian capacity as an assistant to the Deputy Commissioner.
Mr. O'Hara held two Masters degrees in addition to his advanced studies in Criminal Justice. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and an usher. He loved his Doo Woop music and his cat "Rippy"
Mr. O'Hara is survived by his 3 children, Michael Patrick O'Hara of Charlotte, N.C., Jean Marie O'Hara of Reisterstown and Julie Ann Fowler of Manchester. Father-in law of Patti O'Hara and B.J. Fowler. Grandfather of Amanda, Mike, Patrick and Brendan O'Hara and Corey and Brittany Fowler.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon. Rev. Msgr. Lloyd E. Aiken officiating.
Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills 21117.
