Eula Frances Harvey, 93, of Shrewsbury, Pa., formerly of Upperco, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Shrewsbury, Pa.
Born Nov. 14, 1917, in Hampden, Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Robert Francis Mather and Eula Alethia Grimes. She was the wife of Cardiff Lester Harvey, her husband of 52 years, who died in 1987.
Years ago, she worked for Monumental Life Insurance Company and as a bookkeeper for Lloyd E. Mitchell Plumbing Contractor.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being active with the Spirit and Spice Bible Study group. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, completing crossword puzzles in ink only, playing Bingo, reading, and a good joke. In addition, she was a singer, a cook and a baker.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Leslie H. and Thomas Rohrbaugh, of Jacobus, Pa.; sons and daughters-in-law Timothy N. and Becky Harvey, of Upperco, Thomas Wendell Harvey and companion Patricia Sheppard, of Gwynn Oak, and Robert K. and Mary Harvey, of Reisterstown; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was predeceased by a son, Grimes Taggert Harvey; a grandson, Gerry David Rohrbaugh; and sisters Rachael Borgen, Helen Crouse, and Hollis Allen.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 15300 Dover Road, Reisterstown, with the Rev. Dick Harden officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery in Reisterstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 15300 Dover Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
