Frances Bowling, age 101 of New Oxford, PA formerly of Hampstead, MD went to be with her lord, Sunday Feb. 14, 2016 at The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford.
Born August 1, 1914 in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late Frank and Estella McAdow. She was the wife of the late Howard Bowling.
Years ago, she was a seamstress for the Manchester Sewing Factory. She was a member of the Black Rock Church of the Brethren and enjoyed making quilts. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and The Brethren Service Center in New Windsor. This past year, she was a volunteer bell ringer at the Hanover Mall.
She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Noaker and husband David of Seven Valleys, PA and a daughter in law, Patricia Bowling of Manchester, MD. Grandchildren, Stephanie Shaffer and husband Todd, Bobbi Wherley, Debbie Ruth, Lowell Wherley and wife Mary and Donna Rinehart, step grandchildren, Cheryl Garcia, Ken and Tony Noaker and great grandchildren, Amanda and Kyle Rinehart, Austin and Isaac Wherley.
She was predeceased by a son, Franklin Bowling and siblings, Melba Raycob and Grace Francis.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday Feb. 17, 2016 from 11:00am until the time of service, 1:00pm at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. with the Rev. David W. Miller officiating.
Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
