Francis Oliver Hartman

Francis Oliver Hartman, 73, of Manchester, MD, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born on May 14, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Elbert Hartman and Anna Katherine Dailey Hartman.

Francis worked as a maintenance supervisor for many years for Cardiff Charles. He was an lifetime member of the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Company, where he served for about 47 years. He was an avid fisherman and crabber. He was a jack of all trades and was talented at anything he put his mind to. Francis was a great cook and an over all “man of the community.” Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him are daughters: Belinda Hartman, Deanna Ribero and husband James “Rob”, Carrie Hartman, the son he never had: CJ Hartman, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Francis is also survived by his siblings: Shirley Bradley and husband Eddie, William “Bill” Hartman and wife Marsha, Dale Hartman and wife Debbie, brother-in-law: Mike Kuhne, many nieces and nephews, and his first wife and best friend: Anna Drechsler.

Francis was predeceased by his siblings: Patsy Dailey, Kenny Davis, and Nancy Kuhne.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 21, from 11 am – 1 pm and 3-5 pm, at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD, where a funeral service will begin at 4 pm.

Interment is private.
