Franklin "Frank" Martin Peltzer

Franklin Martin Peltzer, age 95, of Upperco, Maryland passed away on July 31, 2026. He was born on October 26, 1930, to James and Blanche Peltzer.

Frank will be remembered for his love of family and animals, sharp wit, gift of gab and dapper style. As a young man he served in the US Army and began his professional career as an accountant with Woodward & Benson. In the late 1960's he opened a solo accounting practice that flourished for more than 50 years; a testament to his remarkable work ethic and dedication to his clients. He was a devoted husband to wife Dorothy and father to Marty and Alan. He was happiest on his farm tending to his flock of horses, dogs, cats and birds. An avid rider and fox hunter, Frank had great affection for and regularly attended the Grand National and Hunt Cup horse races. The role he adored more than any, however, was that of grandfather, or Pop Pop, to his three beloved granddaughters. They spent endless hours together playing games, telling tales, sharing meals, and taking walks down to the stream on his farm. He attended every Grandparents Day at each of their schools with enthusiasm and a smile. Frank was the family historian and storyteller, master of ceremonies for all special occasions, and ensured every family birthday and holiday was celebrated to its fullest. He was known for being gregarious, kind, generous, and always ready with a humorous story or joke to lift spirits or entertain an audience. All those who loved him will cherish the memories of his endearing spirit, caring ways and devotion to his family.

Frank is survived by his sons F. Martin (Marty) Peltzer, Jr. and Alan Peltzer, daughters-in-law Lois and Stephanie, granddaughters Sarah Harari, Lisa Patrick and Sophie Peltzer, great grandchildren Jackson and Allie Harari, and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy High Peltzer.

A private service to celebrate his life will be held at a future date.
