Gardner Russell Long

Gardner Russell "Huey" Long, 94 years old of Reisterstown, died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at his home. Born in Massachusetts on February 27, 1921, he was the son of the late Richard W. Long Jr. and Vera Somes Long. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen E. Moran Long. He served honorably with the U.S. Army as a Pearl Harbor survivor and served in Korea. Huey was a member of the Shasta Indian Nation, VFW Post 521, American Legion and a Mason.
He is survived by his daughter Kelly L. Brown, her husband Bruce A. Brown, daughter-in-law Jane Sewell, Granddaughter Tayna Long, Kathy Sewell, Geri Lyda, his son Richard Long and his wife Jannifer Long. He was predeceased by his step-son Robert Sewell.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 10:00 am to Noon at the ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills at which time a memorial service will be held at Noon.
