Geertina Hendrika Marie Koelbl

Geertina Hendrika Maria Koelbl, 93, of Carroll County, MD, passed away on June 20, 2018. Born on June 8, 1925, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Andreas and Aaltje (Witteveen) Van Dijk. She became a U.S. citizen in 1950.

Geertina was a fur finisher for Hutzlers, Hoschild Kohn and Miller Brothers.

She was the loving wife of the late John Henry Koelbl, Sr.

She is survived by her 4 sons and their wives: Andrew and Judith Koelbl, John Koelbl, Joseph Koelbl and Susan Dec, Michael Koelbl and Kim Myers, and 5 grandchildren; Devin, Tara, Matthew, Sarah, and Christopher and 3 great grandchildren; Kennedy, Christopher Jr. and Aidan.

She was a devout Roman Catholic and a parishioner of both Our Lady of Hope and St. John Catholic Church. She was an accomplished watercolor artist in her retirement.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 29, at 11 am at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Inurnment to follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, 7401 German Hill Road, Dundalk, MD.
